ANNOUNCED AS TEMPORARYNo
On 8 September 2016, the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) announced the allocation of AUD 20 million (USD 15 million) to Origin Energy to support the development of its Darling Downs Solar Farm, in Queensland.
The grant will finance around 9% of the project's total investment which is estimated at AUD 216.7 million ( USD 166 million).
When finalized, the solar farm is expected to generate 110 MW.
This announcement came together with the allocation of eleven other financial grants distributed to other renewable energy projects but none of them was above USD 10 million. The total resources distributed among the twelve projects sum up to AUD 91.7 million (USD 70 million).
