On 23 March 2018, the Investment and Foreign Trade Bank of Argentina (BICE by its Spanish acronym) announced the launching of a new credit line worth ARS 300 million (circa USD 148.5 million) to finance investments in energy-efficiency-augmenting capital goods.
The credit lines will range between ARS 500,000 (USD 24,700) to ARS 5,000,000 (USD 247,000) with a term of up to 7 years and may cover up to 80% of the VAT net investment. In addition, the Ministry of Production together with the Government of Mendoza will subsidise the interest rate of the credit lines which will range between 11% to 13%.
The Inter-American Development Bank has contributed to the investment.
According to BICE, the new credit line aims at increasing the competitiveness of the local producers and SMEs.
