ANNOUNCED AS TEMPORARYYes
Following the 2012 reform of the General System of Preferences (cf. Related State Acts), the European Commission introduced a right to temporarily revoke the GSP tariff preference for specific sectors of GSP benefitting countries, if they met criteria of market competitiveness specified in article 8 of EC regulation 978/2012.
Given these criteria, regulation 1213/2012 revokes the GSP preferences for imports from Thailand for the products specified below for the years 2014 until 2016.
Given that Thailand was removed from the list of countries benefitting from the GSP on 1 January 2015 (cf. Related State Act), this intervention was deactivated on 31 December 2014.
