ANNOUNCED AS TEMPORARYYes
On 28 February, 2017, the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture confirmed a subsidy scheme for maize processors in the north-eastern province of Liaoning.
Firms were awarded USD 14.75 (CNY 100) per tonne of maize processed. The scheme was aimed at tackling problems with overcapacity in the industry.
The scheme was applicable to maize grown in the province purchased between February and April 2017 for processing by the end of June 2017.
Liaoning is one of China's top three maize-producing provinces.
