ANNOUNCED AS TEMPORARYYes
On January 1, 2017, entered into force a Mandate issued by the Ministry of Energy, Biofuels and Water Supply of Queensland imposing fuel sellers to include a minimum 3% volume of biobased petrol on their petrol blends and 0.5% of biobased in diesel blends. This imposition is in force until, June 30, 2018.
According to the government of Queensland, the objective of this regulation is to boost the local biodiesel industry. This measure has been classified amber rather than red because, while there is no specific policy intervention that has been described in the measure that discriminates against foreign sourcing, the state objective of the regulation does not rule out that the implementation can be discriminatory.
