Import-related non-tariff measure, nes

On December 19, 2016, the Colombian Executive enacted Law 1816 eliminating certain discriminatory practices previously carried on spirits and wine imports. The main changes introduced are the prohibition to the local governments to produce administrative trade barriers and discrimination between imported and local products; the unification of the applicable tariff for the consumption tax independently of the origin of the spirit or wine; and the prohibition to impose extra fees related to the importation of spirits.
