Import tariff

Decree No. 1 adopted by the Cabinet Council of Panama on January 16, 2018,  also decreased the applicable import duties on twelve tariff lines including margarine, cement, organic surface-active agents, builders' ware of plastics, handkerchiefs, cleansing or facial tissues and towels, certain women's or girls' suits, certain structures and part of structures, aluminium bars, rods and profiles, structures and parts and insulated wire.

New import tariffs range between 5% and 30% while according to the WTO database previously applicable duties ranged from 10% to 1667%.
