Import tariff

On 6 February 2018, the Indian Ministry of Finance through Notification No. 25/2018 increased the import duty on chickpeas from 30% to 40%.

The duty was increased to 60% on 1 March 2018 for Bengal Gram and other Chickpeas (HS 0713.20.20 and 0713.20.90) but was retained at 40% for Kabuli Chana (0713.20.10) (see related State Act).
