FDI: Entry and ownership rule
Supreme Decree 011-2018-PCM passed by the Peruvian Executive on January 25, 2018, allowed a foreign company to acquire mining rights to operate within fifty kilometres of the border area. According to the country's Constitution, it is forbidden for foreigners to acquire or possess by any title, mines, lands, forests, waters, fuel or energy sources in the bordering areas of the country. This appears to be the first exemption made to this norm.
