Anti-dumping

On January 26, 2018 the Cast Iron Soil Pipe Institute filed petitions seeking the imposition of antidumping duties on certain cast iron soil pipe from China. On March 9, 2018 the U.S. International Trade Commission determined that there is a reasonable indication that a U.S. industry is materially injured by reason of these imports.

On August 27, 2018 the U.S. Department of Commerce announced the affirmative preliminary determination in the antidumping duty investigation of imports of cast iron soil pipe from China, finding that exporters have been dumping cast iron soil pipe in the United States at margins of 302.61 percent. As a result, Commerce will instruct U.S. Customs and Border Protection to collect cash deposits from importers of cast iron soil pipe from China based on these preliminary rates.
