Sri Lanka's Minister of Finance and Mass Media has granted approval to increase the customs import duty waiver on petrol from Rs. 10 (~ USD 0.065) to Rs. 20 (~ USD 0.13) per liter and on diesel from Rs. 3 (~ USD 0.02) to Rs. 6 (~ USD 0.04) per liter. The effective customs import duty on petrol and diesel after the waiver is Rs. 15 and Rs. 9 per liter respectively.
