ANNOUNCED AS TEMPORARYNo
On 18 December 2017, the Mexican authorities initiated an anti-circumvention investigation on imports of slightly modified bond paper from Brazil. This investigation follows suspicion that the definitive antidumping duty imposed in March 2013 on imports of bond paper from Brazil might be circumvented (see related intervention). The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code subheading: 4802.55.01. The investigation follows the application lodged on 6 September 2017 by Bio Pappel Printing, S.A. de C.V., Bio Pappel Scribe, S.A. de C.V. and Pondercel, S.A. de C.V.
On 29 January 2019, the Mexican authorities extended the antidumping duty imposed on imports of bond paper from Brazil (see related intervention) to imports of slightly modified bond paper from Brazil following the conclusion of an anti-circumvention investigation. The rate of duty is 37.78%. The resolution extending the definitive duty was issued on 28 January 2019.
