ANNOUNCED AS TEMPORARYNo
On 29 December 2017, the Turkish authorities initiated an anti-circumvention investigation on imports of synthetic and artificial staple fibre yarns from Nepal and Bangladesh (Notification 2017/37). This investigation follows suspicion that the definitive anti-dumping duty imposed by Notification 2015/8 dated 17 April 2015 on imports of the same products originating in China, India and Indonesia might be circumvented (see related intervention). The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS codes: 5508, 5509 (except 5509.52, 5509.61 and 5509.91), 5510 (except 5510.20) and 5511.
Additionally, the investigation also investigates if Notification 2014/2 dated 8 April 2014 on imports of the same products from Malaysia, Pakistan, Thailand and Vietnam have been circumvented, see related state act.
On 16 October 2018, the Turkish authorities extended the definitive antidumping duty imposed on imports of synthetic and artificial staple fibre yarns from China (see related intervention) to imports of the same products from Bangladesh. The rate of the duty is the same as the one imposed on imports from China, i.e. USD 0.80 per kilogram, at the exception of the company Well Mart Ltd whose exports are not subject to this measure. No duty was extended on imports from Nepal.
