Tax or social insurance relief
On July 31, 2017, the Argentine Government issued Decree 593/2017 decreasing the financial bonuses that were established in 2001, allowing manufacturers to obtain bonuses of up to 8% or 6% for products sold after July 1, 2017, where the first value applies to capital goods in which parts or components where imported with a duty above 0%, and in the other case, its components and parts enjoyed a 0% import tariff. Previously, the applicable percentage was 14% and only imported goods enjoying a 0% duty were to be deducted form the sales price.
Manufacturers can use this bonuses to pay other internal taxes such as VAT.
This new regime has a temporary character and is expected to terminate on December 31, 2017.
