Anti-dumping

The antidumping investigation on imports of lead pencils from China was initiated on 13 December 2017. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code subheading: 9609.10.00. This investigation follows the application lodged on 11 October 2017 from Indus Pencils Industries Private Limited.

On 6 June 2018, the Pakistani National Tariff Commission imposed a provisional antidumping duty on imports of the subject good from China. The rate of duty is between 4.55% and 51.39% of the C&F value depending on the company.

On 10 October 2018, the Pakistani National Tariff Commission imposed a definitive antidumping duty on imports of the lead pencils from China. The rate of duty is 4.92% or 9.56% of the C&F value depending on the company. The duty is in force retrospective from the date of imposition of the provisional duty, i.e. 6 June 2018. The duty is in force for a period of five years.
