Import tariff quota

On October 30, 2017, the Permanent Delegation of Costa Rica to the WTO announced the temporary elimination of import tariffs on beans and maize for a quota of up to 6,294.65 metric tonnes and 2,602 metric tonnes respectively. The decision entered into force on September 6, 2017, and the expected removal date is June 30, 2018. The import duty outside the quota is set at 9.3% for beans and 7% for maize.
