ANNOUNCED AS TEMPORARYNo
In a decision published in the November 29, 2017 edition of Customs Bulletin and Decisions, U.S. Customs and Border Protection proposed that textile money belts should be reclassified from HTSUS 4202.32.9550 (20% duty) or 4202.32.4000 (7.2% duty) to HTSUS 4202.92.15 (6.3% duty) and 4202.92.31 (17.6% duty). The impact of this twin reclassification depends on the specific characteristics of the individua item, but the general trend is downward. The final modification will be effective for goods entered or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption on or after January 26, 2018.
