ANNOUNCED AS TEMPORARYNo
Import-related non-tariff measure, nes
Article 6 of the Agriculture Ministry regulation 15/2017 introduces conditions under which seeds may be imported into Indonesia. Compared to the previous 2012 regulation (cf. Related state acts), this list has been extended. For instance, seeds may now be imported "for commercial purposes" (own translation; art.6b).
There were a number of other changes related to the import procedure; e.g. copies of different required documents when submitting for an import approval. In general, however, these changes should not have a significant impact on commercial trade.
Hence, on aggregate, this intervention represents a liberalisation and is therefore coded as green.
The regulation came into force on 18 May 2017.
