Sri Lanka via Extraordinary Gazette no. 2002/29-2017 reduced the Special Commodity Levy on imports of soya-bean oil, palm oil, sunflower oil, coconut oil and their fractions by Rs. 20 per kg. The levy had been announced for a period of 6 months but was later extended unchanged on 23 August 2017 before later being reduced on 8 November 2017 (see related State Act).

The Special Commodity Levy is a composite import levy and no other duties or taxes are applicable on the product during the said period.

* The conversion rates for LKR to USD have been used as on 23 February 2017 - LKR 152.49 / USD
