Export tax

On 23 November 2017, the Indian Ministry of Finance through Notification No. 39/2015-2020 restricted the exports of onions by imposing a Minimum Export Price of USD 850 per tonne and permitting such exports only on Letter of Credit (LC).

The intervention is announced until 31 December 2017.

On 29 December 2017, through Notification No. 43/2015-2020 the MEP was extended until 20 January 2018. On 19 January 2018, the MEP was reduced and extended for another month (see related state act).
