Tax or social insurance relief
On April 26, 2017 the governor of Kentucky and executives from Braidy Industries Inc. announced that the company will build a $1.3 billion aluminum mill in Greenup County to produce sheet and plate for the automotive and aerospace industries. To encourage the investment, the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority approved the company for tax incentives up to $10 million through the Kentucky Business Investment program. The performance-based incentive allows a company to keep a portion of its investment over the agreement term through corporate income tax credits and wage assessments by meeting job and investment targets.
