Anti-dumping

The antidumping investigation was initiated on 20 October 2017. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following 2017 HS code subheadings: ex 8711.60.10 and ex 8711.60.90. This investigation follows the application lodged on 8 September 2017 by the European Bicycle Manufacturers Association.

On 4 May 2018, the European Commission imposed a Customs registration requirement on the subject good from China for a period of nine months.

On 19 July 2018, the European Commission imposed a provisional antidumping duty on imports of electric bicycles from China. The rate of this duty is between 21.8% and 83.6% of the net free-at-Union-frontier price before duty depending on the company. The duty is in force for a period of 6 months. The regulation imposing provisional duties was published on 18 July 2018.
