On July 4, 2017 the governments of Canada and Quebec announced loans of over Can.$18 million (U.S.$14.4 million) to cabinet manufacturer Armoires Fabritec, to help the business increase production capacity at its Bromont plant. Funding for this project includes a Can.$10 million (U.S.$8 million) loan under the ministère de l’Économie, de la Science et de l’Innovation’s ESSOR program, a Can.$3.3 million (U.S.$2.6 million) loan from Investissement Québec’s own funds, a repayable contribution of Can.$2 million (U.S.$1.6 million) from Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED) and a Can.$3.3 million (U.S.$2.6 million) commercial financing loan from Export Development Canada (EDC). Armoires Fabritec, which targets the U.S. market, uses automated production equipment.
