ANNOUNCED AS TEMPORARYNo
On September 28, 2017 the Chemours Company FC LLC filed a petition seeking the imposition of countervailing duties on polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) resin imported from India. PTFE is classified in the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) under subheadings 3904.61.0010 and 3904.61.0090. Subject merchandise may also be classified under subheading 3904.69, HTSUS.
On November 9, 2017 the U.S. International Trade Commission determined that there is a reasonable indication that a U.S. industry is materially injured by reason of these imports. On June 22, 2018, however, the commission determined that a U.S. industry is not materially injured or threatened with material injury by reason of these imports. As a result of the USITC’s negative determination, no countervailing duty order will be issued.
