In a decision published in the August 16, 2017 edition of Customs Bulletin and Decisions, U.S. Customs and Border Protection proposed that certain electrical cables used in patient monitoring cable assemblies and certain wiring harnesses be reclassified from HTS item 8544.20.00 (5.3% duty) to 8544.42.90 (duty-free). Comments on the proposed modification are due no later than September 15, 2017 and the final modification will be effective for goods entered or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption on or after October 16, 2017.
