ANNOUNCED AS TEMPORARYNo
On August 22nd, 2015, the Turkish authorities initiated an anti-circumvention investigation on imports of yarns of man made, synthetic or artificial staple fabrics from Chinese Taipei (Notification 2015/42, 22.08.2015). This investigation follows suspicion that the definitive anti-dumping duty imposed by Notification 2015/8 dated April 17th, 2015 on imports of the same products originating in China, India and Indonesia might be circumvented (see related intervention). The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS codes: 5508, 5509 (except 5509.52, 5509.61 and 5509.91), 5510 (except 5510.20) and 5511. The complaint was lodged by the Istanbul Textile and Apparel Exporters' Union (Istanbul Tekstil ve Hammaddeleri Ihracatçi Birligi) and the company Adana Mensucat.
On 1 July 2016, the Turkish authorities extended the anti-dumping measure imposed on imports of woven fabrics of synthetic filament yarn from China (see related intervention) to imports of the same products from Chinese Taipei (Notification 2016/22, 01.07.2016). The rate of the duty is the same as the one imposed on imports from China, i.e. USD 0.80 per kilogram, at the exception of the company Formosa Chemicals and Fibre Corporation whose exports are not subject to this measure.
