Import-related non-tariff measure, nes

The notification does not specify the extent of the import restrictions on consumption and industrial salt. No additional information could be found on the websites of the Ministry of Trade and the Ministry of Finance.

However, the restrictions follow a temporary ban on salt imports in 2012 (cf. Related Measures). Furthermore, Indonesia significantly relaxed its import regime on salt on 1 April 2016 (cf. Related Measures). Hence, this measure is likely to be no longer active.
