ANNOUNCED AS TEMPORARYNo
On the 20th of July 2017, the State Council of the PRC released a detailed plan, which laid out the route for China to become the world leader in artificial intelligence (AI) by 2030. Several areas of the industry will be targeted in a stepwise fashion to achieve this goal, and the plan will be supported by the allocation of 'existing government funds' (i.e. subsidies) as well as targeted investments from tech incubators, angel and venture capital firms. Lenient tax policies will also be granted to innovative firms of all sizes.
