ANNOUNCED AS TEMPORARYNo
In October 2015, the Government of Hong Kong announced the establishment of its 'Recycling Fund': a system of subsidies designed to help Hong Kong-based recycling companies to grow.
1bn HKD (129m USD) of government funding has been set aside for the project, with applications open on a yearly basis. The subsidies are given out on a project-by-project basis, with the government matching investment from the firm itself on a 1:1 basis.
According to a WTO report from 2017, 9m USD was given out to eligible entities.
The scheme is billed to run for five years.
