Import ban

On 13 December 2016, the Nigerian Content Development & Monitoring Board for the first time introduced a ban on the importation of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) used by professionals operating the industry of oil and gas, for an unspecified period of time.

According to the official statements of the Nigerian Content Development & Monitoring Board, the introduction of the import ban originates from the fact that the national Nigerian production has the capacity to cover the demand of the industry when it comes to PPE-related products.
