Import quota

The Swiss government temporarily raised the 2015 import quotas for 13 different food products. Most of the increases came into force on 1 July 2015. However, the increase for potato seeds came into force only on 1 October 2015.

Also, the Delegation did not mention the previous and new levels of the quotas but did specify that:

  • wheat, rye, and grain sorghum quotas were raised by 20,000 tonnes;
  • birds' egg quotas by 1,000 tonnes;
  • potato quotas by 2,000 tonnes;
  • and potato seeds by 1,500 tonnes.
