Import tariff quota

On December 29, 2016, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Chamber (Camex) issued Resolution 138 reducing temporarily the import tariff on Pet resin (NCM 3907.61.00) for a quota of 20,000 tonnes. The new import duty was set at 2% for a period of twelve months.

In the same Resolution, the Government ratified the import tariff quotas established on certain printing inks and polycarbonates that were set on Resolution 109 (see related measures).

Update

On December 20, 2017, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Chamber issued Resolution 97 extending the import tariff quota on Pet resin (3907.61.00) for another twelve months starting on December 30, 2017.  In this occasion, the quota was set at 10,000 tonnes but the import tariff was kept at 2%.
