ANNOUNCED AS TEMPORARYYes
Import tariff quota
On April 14, 2017, the Government of Mexico enacted a measure modifying the allocation of import tariff quotas on beans. The new agreement reduced the allocation of the duty-free import quota of beans for 2017 by 50,000 metric tonnes, allowing a total duty-free import quota of 100,000 metric tonnes. Previously, the import tariff quota was set at 150,000 metric tonnes.
In addition, the new measure temporarily reduced the quantities that could be allocated to each solicitor to 12,500 tonnes.
Only for the year 2017, the 100,000 metric tonnes were to be distributed between April 16, and November 30.
