Price stabilisation

On April 19, 2017, the Official Gazette of Brazil published the Interministerial Decree 800 issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply and the Ministries of Finance and Planning, Development and Management. The measure announced the allocation of subsidies for a total value of USD 159 million (BRL 500 million) to assist maize producers to sell their crop via PEPRO and PEP auctions, two programmes created by the government that grant subsidies to rural producers and cooperatives to ensure that the goods sold by these producers reach the minimum price.
