ANNOUNCED AS TEMPORARYYes
Labour market access
The restrictions introduce restricted labour market access for Bulgarian and Romanian citizens to the Swiss labour market (for B-permit holders) between June 2017 and May 2018. The move comes after the number of B-permit registration for these countries had doubled to 3,300, triggering the so-called "Ventilklausel" - a measure included in the bilateral treaties between Switzerland and the EU on the free movement of people. The clause allows Switzerland to introduce temporary labour market access restrictions if annual inflows from these countries exceed the prior three-year average by 10 percent.
