ANNOUNCED AS TEMPORARYNo
On November 17, 2014, the Ecuadorian Foreign Trade Committee passed Resolution 039 approving the elimination of the import tariffs applied on induction cookers which previously experienced a 30% import tariff. This new duty value does not apply to other types of electric cookers.
This law emerged from the Government's effort to change the energetic matrix of the country and reduce the importation of Liquified Natural Gas, and it was englobed within the Efficient Cooking Program developed by the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energies.
