On 19 April 2017, the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry through Notification 3/2015-2020, exports of organic wheat, organic non-basmati rice, organic edible oils, and organic sugar were made exempt from any quantitative ceilings irrespective of any current/future export restrictions/prohibitions made on the export of their basic non-organic products. Organic edible oil was already exempt from such export restriction (See related State Act).
Further, the quantitative ceiling on organic lentils and pulses has been increased from 10,000 metric tonnes to 50,000 metric tonnes per annum.
