On August 10, 2012, the Argentinian Secretariat of Energy, issued Resolution 1436 establishing a fixed price for biodiesel to be paid by blending companies to biofuel producers. The price determined was 4,405.3 Argentinian pesos per tonne (circa USD 959). In addition to this amount, blending companies had to pay a variable cost per tonne calculated by taking into account the costs of Methanol and of soy oil, including transactions related to its purchase and its transportation.
