Financial assistance in foreign market

On May 19, 2015, Mexican National Foreign Trade Bank, Bancomext, announced its participation in the construction of a new meat production plant in Nicaragua owned by the Mexican company SuKarne. The investment was coordinated by the Interamerican Development Bank and was jointly financed by the Latin American Foreign Trade Bank, Bancomext and the Dutch commercial bank Rabobank. The total investment was USD 115 million.

With this new production plant, SuKarne expects to create 500 direct jobs, have a fattening capacity of 50 thousand livestock, and produce 173 thousand tons of meat annually. With this production capacity, the company expects not only to fulfil the Nicaraguan market supply requirements but also export to other Central American countries, the United States of America, Mexico, Japan, China, Rusia and the European Union.
