On 20 September 2016, the Korean Eximbank announced providing an EUR 72 million (USD 80.31 million) loan for the Gaziantep Health Campus PPP Project in Turkey in project financing. On 20 September 2016, the Korean Eximbank announced providing an EUR 71 million (USD 79.20 million) loan guarantee covering a loan provided from the Korean financial institutions including NH Bank, KEB Hana Bank and the Financial Investor for the Gaziantep Health Campus PPP Project in Turkey.
The Korean company Samsung C&T Corporation is largest shareholder in this project and is participating in the project as a sponsor and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction contractor. In this project
In this context, an official of the Eximbank stated: "This project conveys quite a significant meaning because it is the first hospital project in Turkey that Korean companies and Korean financial institutions play a leading role."
Project financing loans include preferential terms such as repayments being mainly made from the project’s cash flow generation and secured on the basis of the project's assets alone. As such the loan agreement is tied to the project's finances and not the company in question.
The GTA includes state guarantees and other financial incentives that are likely to affect the restructuring and performance of firms facing international competition, whether from imports, in export markets and from foreign subsidiaries.
