Production subsidy

On November 4, 2014, the Colombian Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development passed Resolution 426 launching a program for corn producers to support the commercialisation of theirs products. The program established a production subsidy of USD 41.37 per tonne of corn sold between November 10, 2014, and December 12, 2014, and registered in the Colombian Mercantile Exchange between November 25, 2014, and December 19, 2014. The maximum volume benefitting from this program was 150,000 tonnes distributed as it follows: 50,000 t. for Córdoba; 40,000 t. for Valle del Cauca; 30,000 t. for Tolima; 20,000 t. for Meta-Vichada; 5,000 t. for Cesar-Guajira; and 5,000 t for other regions. The maximum volume per producer allowed was 10% of the total volume assigned to each region.
