Import ban

Effective from 01 January 2017, the Federal Government of Nigeria banned the import of all new and used vehicles through the country's land borders. This denoted import ban is a follow-up of a Presidential Directive restricting all vehicle imports to Nigeria Sea Ports only.

Furthermore, the official announcement of the Federal Government stated that importers of vehicles through the land borders are requested to utilise the grace period until 31st December 2016, in order to remove their vehicle imports landed in neighbouring Ports.
