Tax or social insurance relief

On December 23, 2015 the Agriculture Ministry announced that now agricultural industries that deal with lactose-based products will receive a 50% reimbursement on their PIS/Cofins contributions. This is part of the ministries new program "Leite Saudavel" (Healthy Milk) which attempts to promote the consumption of healthier milk products in Brazil. As PIS/Cofins were set at 9.25%, that means that contributions by beneficiaries are now reduced to 4.625%.
