Financial assistance in foreign market
The overseas investment loan agreement between JBIC and GC Exploration Eagle Ford LLC has a maximum value of USD 49 million. The company is a US subsidiary of the Japanese company JGC Corporation. The loan finances the US subsidiary's development and production of shale oil in Texas, the United States.
In this context, the Bank stated: "JBIC will continue to vigorously support Japanese businesses for promoting development and acquisition of energy resources by drawing on its various financial facilities and schemes for structuring projects and performing its risk-assuming function."
Overseas investment loans
JBIC provides direct loans named overseas investment loans to Japanese companies, overseas affiliates or joint ventures where Japanese companies hold equity interests and governments or financial institutions partying with such overseas affiliates.
