On 14 March 2013, the Argentinian Federal Agency of Public Income (AFIP) adopted General Resolution 3450 which increases the tax on credit or debit card purchases made abroad from 15 per cent to 20 per cent. In addition to this, the resolution extended the tax to holiday packages paid for at home. The measure became effective with its publication in the Official Gazette of 18 March 2013.
