ANNOUNCED AS TEMPORARYNo
On 25 September 2015, the Indonesian state-trading entreprise Bulog announced that the Ministry of Trade requested the agency to import an additional 10'000 tonnes of prime-cut beef from New Zealand.
The country diverged from its usual source of beef imports, Australia (cf. Related Measures), as, according to Director General of Animal Husbandry and Health Ministry of Agriculture, the beef from New Zealand was cheaper (cf. press release in Sources).
On 30 September, according to numerous media reports, Indonesia decided to also import 200'000 units of cattle from Australia in the fourth quarter of 2015.
On 20 October of the same year, the Ministry of Trade also issued import permits for the introduction of 19'000 tonnes of beef.
