Export tax

On 20 June 2015, the Vietnamese Ministry of Finance increased the export duty on cassava from 0 to 5%.Circular 63/2015/TT-BTC was published in this regard. According to reports the rates were increased to ensure supply of cheaper raw materials for local production of ethanol as increasing exports was pushing up the domestic price.

The export duty of 5% was withdrawn on 5 September 2015 on account of high domestic stock.
