Safeguard

On July 14th, 2015, the Tunisian authorities initiated a safeguard investigation on imports of ceramic tiles.
The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code subheadings: 6907.10, 6907.90, 6908.10 and 6908.90.
This follows the application lodged by the companies Carthago Ceramic, Somocer, Dormail, Siceram, Sotemail, MPC Essid and GCCB.
According to the UN Comtrade Database, in 2013 (no data available for 2014 as of September 15th, 2015) the following countries exported goods classified under HS code subheadings 6907.10, 6907.90, 6908.10 and 6908.90 to Tunisia with a trade value over the GTA threshold of USD 1 million: Spain, Italy, United Arab Emirates, China and Portugal.
