Anti-dumping

On 14 February 2014 the Department for Internal Market Defence of the Eurasian Economic Commission (according to Decision No. 2) decided to initiate an anti-dumping investigation on imports of citric acid from the People's Republic of China. The product subject to investigation is classified under the following code: 2918 14 000 0. The citric acid is a natural antioxidant, widely-used in the food industry, the manufacture of synthetic detergents, agriculture, the cosmetic industry and other industries. In accordance with the European digital codification of food additives it is classified under E330 and included in the list of food additives permitted for use in foods and beverages.
The complaint was lodged on by CITROBEL (http://www.citrobel.ru).
On 10 March 2015 the Collegium of the Eurasian Economic Commission (according to Decision No. 15) decided to impose a definitive anti-dumping duty with respect to citric acid from the People's Republic of China. The definitive duty is set at the following rates:

  • for Weifang Ensign Industry Co., Ltd - 4.2 of the customs value;
  • for TTCA Co., Ltd - 6.82 of the customs value;
  • for Yixing-Union Biochemical Co., Ltd - 16.97 of the customs value;
  • for other exporters and / or producers - 16.97% of the customs value.

This definitive duty entered into force on 10 April 2015, and is applicable for a period of five years.
