On 10 March 2015, Argentina approved a new support scheme for small milk producers i.e.producers that produce up to 6,000 liters of milk on a daily basis.
This new support scheme will pay milk producers 0.3 Argentinian pesos (USD 0.03) per liter, for the first 2,900 liters of milk produced.
Initially, the support scheme was planned to last for a period of three months (with the starting date being the date of the support scheme approval). Nevertheless, Argentinian authorities extended it for the month of June via Resolution 769/2015.
Additionally, on 19 August 2015, Argentina's Minister of Economy announced the decision to further extend this support scheme. In his official statement, the Minister further emphasized that this scheme is designated to reaching a total of 10,500 producers who would benefit from a total monetary transfer from the Federal Government ammounting to 675,000,000 Argentinian pesos (USD 72,593,543).
UN Comtrade does not specify any trading partners for Argentina with a trade value of 1,000,000 or higher on the affected tariff lines.
The GTA includes state guarantees and other financial incentives that are likely to affect the restructuring and performance of firms facing international competition, whether from imports, in export markets, and from foreign subsidiaries.
